Timmins just got tastier!

Things aren’t like they used to be! • Over 40 mining companies are exploring the possibility of drilling for gold and other minerals in the area.
• Ontario Power Generation is constructing over 300 million dollars worth of hydro generating dams in the North.
• Canada Chrome is involved in the Ring of Fire, a one point five billion dollar development along the James Bay Coast which will create 45-hundred direct full-time jobs with a multitude of spin-off employment.
• Northern College’s 17-point-three million dollar trades centre is set to open this year and will attract students from across the province.
• A state of the art kindergarten to grade six French Immersion school will begin construction this year.
• The new eleven-point-five million dollar hospital dialysis unit will help make Timmins a leader in this field in Northern Ontario.
• Extendicare will be building a new 180 bed long term facility.
• Lake Shore Gold has 29 million dollars in exploration and 134 million in project spending budgeted for 20-ten.
• Detour Gold is poised to open, creating 400 to 500 mining job, not to mention 700 to 800 construction jobs.
• The Ring of Fire on the James Bay will employ 45-hundred people, with many local retailers enjoying the benefits of the spin-offs from this project.
